Something I woke with one morning and I had to get it out of my head. In case, you know, other people feel this way too!
Life is a funny thing.
We are beings on a planet…stringing moments together. Memories, days, weeks, months, years.
Sucesses, failures, we know what each and every one of these things are.
When you say you want to create a life for yourself, build a life for yourself, or just create a life. These
all mean many different things to many different people. You don͛t need a nail and hammer to build a
life…but you do to physically build other things. Strange right?
How about creating a life?
Means anything from making a baby to making your life have meaning
somehow as opposed to following rules or feeling complacent.
But a lot of this comes down to rules. Everything we do, follow, believe are a set of rules that someone
somewhere set forth in some place in time. Whether its social norms or laws of the place you live.
It͛s all kind of strange when you think about it. All of these rules change depending on where you go in
the world. What͛s allowed in one place, is frowned upon somewhere else. Or vice versa…what you do
is looked at as strange. Maybe that feels freeing….maybe confining.
What does it mean to have a life? It͛s different to everyone.
For instance, do I have a life? I don͛t think so. But I am alive, living day to day; I work, I have a friends
and family and for the time being I have no drama. But is that life? That͛s not an easy one to answer is
it? It͛s all a point of view. Some would say that you have your health, a job, a roof over your head and
people that love you….that͛s life. Others might see me metaphorically treading water, as I do, and say I
don͛t have a life.
Why would someone wake up to get to ready for work and start typing this out? Most people would
probably ignore this in their heads and get on with their day.
Some people would do what I do, write it
down and get it out. Others….who knows. Maybe they would be terrified by the thought of thinking
this deeply about what life is.
I͛ve always been this way. I fascinated by just about everything in life. How funny a word sounds,
different cultures no matter how different or barbaric to my own, what people do, say, how they act,
how they act one way and say another. Why does the body allow you to do that? Most things in the
human body are absolutes, otherwise you die. I suppose we͛re getting into a conversation about free
will here, so I͛ll leave that alone. But I love people watching…I find it interesting how we all can have the
same emotion, the same way to get something done but how we do it, how we feel it, and/or what we
do about it….we all do it differently.
Ever think about that?
Welcome to my life.
I͛ve been called weird my whole life. As a child, it hurt my feelings somewhat. But I͛ve learned to
embrace it as an adult. I have found many people near and dear to my heart that share my weirdness.
In fact, I͛ve come to a point in my life where people that aren͛t deemed ͚weird͛ are the weird ones!
People that follow the straight and narrow or let social norms dictate their lives….I think they are weird.
Maybe they are the ones that have no life? Obviously, we could debate that all day, again…another
conversation for another day.
It͛s hard to step out on your own and not follow the rules that society tells you to follow…..House MD
called them the circle people. But I think I͛ve been able to do this because my family never boxed
anyone in to a perfect mold so to speak. You are who you are….and you need to figure out what or who
that is. And it may make it harder to be in this world….and that͛s ok. You͛ll figure it out.
Until next time! Stay safe and create things!
I have a great whipped body wash recipe I want to post(totally in love!) and a scrub bar recipe too!
